Conditioned Reflexes, translated from the Russian, is a collection of lectures first given by Pavlov at the Military Medical Academy in St Petersburg in , and subsequently turned into a book. In mind-numbing detail, it summarizes the 25 years of research carried out by .

Pavlov was a physiologist, not a psychologist. Physiologists study the life processes of organisms, from the molecular level to the level of cells, organ systems, and entire organisms. Pavlov’s area of interest was the digestive system (Hunt, ). In his studies with dogs, Pavlov surgically implanted tubes inside dogs’ cheeks to collect.   This work culminated in his book Lectures on the Work of the Digestive Glands in Laws of conditioned reflex. By observing irregularities of secretions in normal unanesthetized animals, Pavlov was led to formulate the laws of the conditioned reflex, a subject that occupied his attention from about until

Pavlov's Dogs jumps right into things, starting out several weeks after the zombie apocalypse has gotten into full swing and most of the human race has been wiped out or turned. We are immediately introduced to a group of what looks to be werewolves as they save a couple of humans running out of time and options as the undead close in on them/5.

Everything I want in a zombie book is here, with the added spice of having some werewolves (dogs actually) thrown in the mix to kick everything up a notch. I was enthralled by how fast the action started, nothing turns me off a book more than a slow heavy handed opening but Pavlov's Dogs (PD from now on) is not that book/5(63).

For example, dogs don’t learn to salivate whenever they see food. This reflex is ‘hard-wired’ into the dog. In behaviorist terms, food is an unconditioned stimulus and salivation is an unconditioned response.

(i.e., a stimulus-response. Ivan Pavlov was the pioneer of ground breaking discoveries in the field of physiology.
